Rolex Certified Pre-Owned Portal — Robert Gatward
Bringing the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned experience online
As passionate Rolex enthusiasts, it was a real pleasure for our team to work on the build of the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned portal for Robert Gatward.
The project presented a particularly exciting challenge: creating a digital experience that could reflect the quality, heritage and attention to detail associated with Rolex, while also giving Robert Gatward customers an intuitive way to explore its certified pre-owned collection.
Built to exacting standards
The platform was designed and developed to meet Rolex’s exacting requirements and was ultimately signed off by Rolex, giving us the opportunity to work within some pretty high standards.
Every aspect of the experience needed to feel considered — from the presentation of individual watches through to the wider browsing experience. The result is a clean, premium platform that puts the watches firmly at the centre of the experience.
A closer look at every watch
One of the standout features is the interactive 360° watch viewer, allowing customers to rotate and explore each piece in detail.
For pre-owned luxury watches, where condition, finish and detail are such an important part of the purchasing decision, this gives customers a much better sense of the individual watch before they make an enquiry or visit the showroom.
It also adds a little bit of theatre to the experience — because when you’re looking at a Rolex, you should be able to admire it from every angle.
Certified pre-owned, digitally presented
The Rolex Certified Pre-Owned programme gives authorised dealers the opportunity to offer pre-owned Rolex watches that have been authenticated and certified through the official Rolex programme.
For Robert Gatward, the portal provides a dedicated digital home for this collection, making it easier for customers to discover available watches, understand their details and take the next step towards purchasing.
It is a great example of how a traditionally high-touch luxury retail experience can be translated into a digital environment without losing the sense of exclusivity and attention to detail that customers expect.
And, let’s be honest, it’s a refreshing change from some of the more characterful shops you might stumble across while wandering around Hatton Garden.
The result
The finished portal combines a premium visual experience with the functionality customers need when considering a significant purchase.
For our team, it was a particularly rewarding project — not just because of the technical challenge, but because we genuinely love the product. Getting to build an experience around some of the world’s most recognisable watches, to standards set by one of the world’s most recognisable luxury brands, was a fantastic opportunity.
A project where technology, luxury retail and a genuine appreciation for the product all came together.
